Unlike traditional helmets, characterized by a polystyrene (EPS) core, we utilize for our SEVENTWENTY helmets an elastomer honeycomb structure. This technology was developed and patented by SEVENTWENTY under the name HexaGo. In case of impact, the flexible structure compresses and deformes, ensuring greater shock absorption of both linear and rotational forces. Read more about it here.

The honeycomb structure consists of H.E.A.P. (High Energy Absorption Polymer), a special Elastomer developed together with SEVENTWENTY. For the outer shell we utilize, depending on the model, Polycarbonate, ABS or Carbon.

The bike helmets are currently certified according to the European standard DIN EN 1078 (CE). Soon the CPSC certification will be carried out for the USA.

Bike helmets, according to the EN 1078: certified bike helmets are suitable for biking, skateboarding and roller skating.
Ski & snowboard helmets, according to the EN 1077: certified ski and snowboard helmets are suitable for skiing and snowboarding.

The elastomer that SEVENTWENTY uses for the core of its helmets is more resistant than polystyrene. Nevertheless, we recommend for security reasons to replace the helmets every 3 years according to the norm, as signs of wear can appear depending on usage, maintenance, storage and sun exposure. In case of impact, a helmet must be replaced immediately, regardless of the 3 year deadline. We are working on the development of a recycling program for used SEVENTWENTY helmets. Helmet sizes are based on head circumference. You can measure yours using a tape measure, by placing its end on the back of your head and scrolling it over your ears and forhead, 1 or 2 centimeters over your eyebrows. Be careful not to let the tape measure slip down your neck and also not to place it too high on your forehead, otherwise you won’t measure correctly the widest circumference. If you don’t have a tape measure, you can use a simple string or lace and measure it using a ruler. Once established your head circumference, you can match it with the size indications on our online shop and find the right size for you.

Sweat and conventional sunscreens can cause deposits. These have no influence on the performance of the helmet and can be removed through a simple cleaning.

Remove the inner cushioning and clean the core and the outer shell using a sponge, neutral soap and lukewarm water. Do not use any aggressive detergents that could damage the materials or colors. The cushioning can also be cleaned using mild soap and water, and should be rinsed before drying.

In order to minimize our impact on the environment we utilize FSC-certified paper and cartboard for the packaging of our helmets, without applying any synthetic coating.

Yes, our helmets are also designed to enable the fixation of an adhesive pad for the mounting of an action cam.
